January ends and February begins with a full slate of high school basketball coverage live on the Quad Cities’ live local sports leader! We start our coverage on Monday with a Western Big 6 girls makeup game as Rock Island travels to Galesburg. Tuesday night features a critical MAC matchup as Pleasant Valley looks to follow up their big win over North Scott on Friday with a trip to the Falcons’ Nest at Davenport West. The Western Big 6 girls take over Thursday’s coverage, while our boys’ slate is full Friday and Saturday with conference and non-conference action. SCHEDULE UPDATE – PLEASE NOTE THAT THE JANUARY 26TH ROCK ISLAND-GALESBURG GAME HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY 13TH BECAUSE OF AN UNEXPECTED DEATH INVOLVING A PARTICIPANT IN THE GAME. ALL OF US AT QCSPORTSNET EXTEND OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND EVERYONE IMPACTED.

Please see our updated QCSportsNet schedule for this weekend’s coverage. There are three items that have changed from our broadcast listing on Monday.

  • Friday’s Moline broadcast at Quincy will start around 6:40 PM with tipoff scheduled for 7 PM
  • Friday’s Pleasant Valley game against North Scott is a PV home game. Pregame is set for 7:10 PM
  • Saturday’s Rock Island game is against Alton at the Galesburg Shootout. Pregame is still 6:10 with a scheduled 6:30 PM tipoff

The Quad Cities live local sports leader goes on the road this week to follow your favorite teams in high school basketball action. Our road coverage starts on Tuesday night as Pleasant Valley travels to Burlington for a Mississippi Athletic Conference matchup with playoff seeding implications. Moline and United Township girls basketball action highlights our Thursday coverage. Friday features Moline heading on the road to Quincy and a battle of two top-10 teams in Iowa as Pleasant Valley hosts North Scott. Saturday’s action features our Western Big 6 teams in non-conference action. Please note that Moline’s game at Quincy is a 7 PM tipoff with a 6:40 pregame start, while UT’s game on January 27th has a 2:30 PM tipoff with pregame coverage starting at 2:10 PM.

Rock Island, UT, and PV girls take center stage Monday and Tuesday!

Two of the Quad Cities’ best girls basketball teams highlight our coverage early this week on QCSportsNet! On Monday, the Rock Island girls return to DeKalb to compete in the semifinals and finals/3rd place games of the DeKalb MLK tournament. Rock Island takes on eighth-ranked Lincoln Way East with pregame coverage starting at 4:10 from DeKalb. The Rocks conclude their weekend with a 7:30 matchup, regardless of outcome, against either Maine South or undefeated Rockford Boylan. Pregame coverage for the nightcap starts at 7:10 PM.

On Tuesday, January 16th, the fourth-ranked Pleasant Valley girls (Iowa Class 5A) put their undefeated record on the line in non-conference action at Linn-Mar from the Mississippi Valley Conference. Our friend Zach Mackey from the Big Ten Network and the Iowa Hawkeyes Radio Network will be on the call from Marion with pregame coverage starting at 6:10 PM on Tuesday for a 6:30 PM tipoff. United Township takes on Alleman in a makeup Western Big 6 matchup starting at 6:10 PM.
