Playoff basketball in full swing Thursday and Friday on QCSportsNet

The Rock Island Rocks girls basketball and Pleasant Valley Spartans boys basketball teams look to take the next step in their journeys to the state tournament Thursday and Friday. QCSportsNet will be there with all of the live action for the Rocks’ sectional final matchup with Edwardsville at Alton, IL Thursday night. QCSportsNet state playoff schedule – week of February 22

State playoff action is in full swing this week on QCSportsNet, and we will be on both sides of the river to cover your favorite teams. The Rock Island Rocks girls basketball team kicks off the week on Monday with a sectional semifinal tilt against Bradley-Bourbannais, while the Pleasant Valley girls look to punch their ticket to Des Moines on Tuesday with a regional final at Cedar Falls. The PV boys start state playoff action on Friday night. The full Rock Island and Pleasant Valley lineup is below.

QCSportsNet basketball schedule for February 19-20

Following the Rock Island Rocks girls basketball team’s 50-38 win over United Township in the Ottawa Regional semifinals, QCSportsNet has set its schedule for the weekend of February 19th and 20th. The Rock Island girls will be on our QCSportsNet Rock Island channel, while Joe Winkel and Tanner Rowe will call a neutral broadcast of the Rock Island-UT boys game Friday night on our UT channel. The MAC champion Pleasant Valley Spartans host Davenport Central on the PV channel.

Quad City River Bandits play by play announcer Jake Levy joins QCSportsNet on Saturday night for the Pleasant Valley-Dubuque Hempstead girls regional semifinal from PV High School. Peoria Manual visits the Rock Garden for a battle with the Rock Island boys.

Rock Island girls basketball regional action tonight on QCSportsNet

The Rock Island Rocks girls basketball team begins its quest for the state tournament tonight, and QCSportsNet will be there for all of the live action! The Rocks take on United Township in the semifinals of the Ottawa Regional. Ken Jacoby will have the call beginning at 5:40 PM from Ottawa. Rock Island Rocks girls basketball is presented by the Wheelan-Pressly family of funeral homes in Rock Island, Milan, and Reynolds.

QCSportsNet schedule for the week of 15 February 2016

The “second season” begins in girls basketball this week, and QCSportsNet joins the Rock Island Rocks and Pleasant Valley Spartans girls teams on their journeys to the state tournament! The Rocks and Spartans have legitimate state tournament hopes, and QCSportsNet will be there every step of the way. Rock Island opens regional play on Wednesday night and plays Friday if it wins. Pleasant Valley opens Iowa regional play Saturday night at home against Dubuque Hempstead.

In boys basketball action, Pleasant Valley has two chances to win its first outright Mississippi Athletic Conference championship since 2006 when the Spartans travel to Burlington on Tuesday before closing the regular season with a home game against Davenport Central on Friday night. The voice of Burlington Bees baseball, Michael Broskowski, joins QCSportsNet to call the PV-Burlington game. Rock Island and United Township square off on Friday night.
