QCSportsNet.com Expands to Five Schools, Adding Bettendorf Bulldogs

United Township football also added to live play-by-play coverage

QCSportsNet.com, the leading provider of live high school sports play-by-play in the Quad Cities, takes another step forward in 2018-19, adding coverage of United Township Panthers football, as well as Bettendorf Bulldogs football and basketball. This brings to five the number of schools covered by the live webcasts on QCSportsNet.com, with the total number of games expected to be around 200 for 2018-19.

For the five athletic programs now under their umbrella – the Rock Island Rocks, Moline Maroons, United Township Panthers, Bettendorf Bulldogs, and Pleasant Valley Spartans – QCSportsNet.com will provide live coverage of all regular season football and boys basketball games and specially selected girls basketball games, as well as all post-season action.

Any businesses interested in sponsoring coverage of anywhere from one to five schools can contact Ken Jacoby at (309) 912-5135 or ken.jacoby@mchsi.com for more information.

“The passionate fans of Quad Cities high school sports deserve the kind of high quality coverage we’ll bring them,” said QCSportsNet president Ken Jacoby. “We’re really excited about the new additions to our announcing team.”

The lead announcers for each school are expected to be:

Enjoy sports? Want to get into broadcasting? Read on . . .

Since QCSportsNet started in December 2013, we have prided ourselves on providing our schools, listeners, and sponsors with high-quality, professional broadcasts. We treat the games we broadcast as the biggest, most important game of the day. We have experienced rapid growth and are seeing more schools turn to our network to air their games to their alumni, fans, and community.

We can only do this with a talented and reliable group of announcers. QCSportsNet is looking to expand, and we are looking for the next generation of broadcasters to help expand our coverage to even more schools in the Quad Cities area! QCSportsNet is a great opportunity for broadcasters to be a part of the thriving Quad Cities high school sports scene and gain valuable experience in today’s highly competitive sports journalism and broadcasting market. Our announcing alumni include rising young stars such as University of Iowa baseball radio announcer Zach Mackey and Minnesota play by play announcer of the year Mitch Widmeier. We have fun broadcasting our games, but we also place a high value on being reliable, prepared, and connected to the teams we broadcast.

Our broadcast schedule generally covers the following evenings, subject to team schedules.

  • High School football – Friday evenings from late August to late October (regular season) or to mid-November (playoffs)
  • High School boys basketball – Tuesday evenings (Iowa boys and girls), Thursday evenings (Illinois girls), Friday evenings (Iowa boys and girls, Illinois boys), Saturday evenings (Illinois boys) from late November to early March.
  • Special events – Boys Genesis Shootout (third Saturday in December), Girls IHMVCU Shootout (first Saturday in January)

If you are interested in learning more about what it takes to be a QCSportsNet announcer, please contact Ken Jacoby at ken@qcsportsnet.com or Dallon Christensen at dc@qcsportsnet.com. QCSportsNet is the Quad Cities live local sports leader, and our reputation is growing throughout the area. We are excited about our future, and we want you to be a part of it!
