QCSportsNet opens 2017 with a wall-to-wall slate of games this weekend. The weekend starts with a Western Big 6 girls matchup as United Township visits Rock Island Alleman. Pleasant Valley, and United Township boys basketball return to the hardwood with Friday night action. Rock Island and UT return for Saturday night non-conference action.

On Saturday night, QCSportsNet will present special coverage from the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union Shootout. Girls basketball takes center stage from Augustana College with QCSportsNet airing the final three games of the shootout. Please note that all three of the shootout games will air exclusively on our Pleasant Valley channel to address conflicts with the Rock Island and United Township games. Two Quad City rivalries renew this Friday night as the Rock Island Rocks and Pleasant Valley Spartans return to action live on QCSportsNet! Pleasant Valley welcomes North Scott for another edition of one of the area’s newest rivalries. Each of the last three games between these two teams has come down to the final 30 seconds. Tensions will be high as both teams look to keep their playoff hopes alive at Spartan Stadium.

Rock Island welcomes United Township in another metro rivalry at Rock Island Public Schools Stadium. The Rocks are fighting for playoff position as they welcome first-year head coach Joe Morrissey and the Panthers to Rock Island.

The last time Pleasant Valley and North Scott met on the court, the Iowa 4A state championship was at stake. The Lancers and Spartans renew their rivalry this Friday night on QCSportsNet, your exclusive home for this state finals rematch. Dallon Christensen will have the call of the game starting with a 7:15 pregame.

Rock Island and United Township are in action Friday and Saturday night, with the Rocks at home against Galesburg on Friday and Normal West on Saturday and the Panthers hosting Alleman on Friday and Bettendorf on Saturday.

Iowa 4A State Championship – Pleasant Valley vs. North Scott, March 14 2015

They have split two regular season meetings by a combined winning margin of nine points. They have only five losses between them all season. They have played the best the state of Iowa has to offer.

They are the two remaining teams in Iowa Class 4A. For the first time in 29 years, two Mississippi Athletic Conference teams play for an Iowa state basketball championship, and ESPN 93.5 will be there as a Quad City team is crowned state champion.
