QCSportsNet.com & Fox Sports Radio 1230 Bring High School Hoops to Radio

Only QC media outlets with live high school sports play-by-play in 2018-19

QCSportsNet.com, the leading provider of live high school sports play-by-play in the Quad Cities, is teaming up with Fox Sports Radio 1230, WFXN, to bring live coverage of high school basketball to fans of Quad Cities schools in the 2018-19 season. QCSportsNet and WFXN are the only media outlets in the Quad Cities scheduled to carry live high school sports play-by-play.

“With football and boys and girls basketball, we’ll be carrying about 200 live games this upcoming season,” said QCSportsNet president Ken Jacoby. “We’re excited for the opportunity to reach even more fans with some of our basketball games on Fox Sports Radio 1230.”

The exact schedule is to be determined, but Jacoby said, “The number of games on the radio this upcoming season will definitely be in double figures.”

Ron Evans, program director of Fox Sports Radio 1230, said, “We’re pleased to bring high school basketball back to FOX Sports Radio 1230. It’s the perfect addition to our lineup of live sports coverage, including Green Bay Packers football, Fighting Illini football and basketball and Quad City metro high school football.”

All games that are aired on Fox Sports Radio 1230 will also be heard on QCSportsNet.com.

QCSportsNet.com has grown each year since the 2015-16 season, and now will carry live play-by-play of all regular season football and boys basketball games and specially selected girls basketball games for five schools: Rock Island, Moline, United Township, Bettendorf, and Pleasant Valley. In addition, QCSportsNet.com will have live post-season coverage of all teams involved from those five schools.

QCSportsNet.com Expands to Five Schools, Adding Bettendorf Bulldogs

United Township football also added to live play-by-play coverage

QCSportsNet.com, the leading provider of live high school sports play-by-play in the Quad Cities, takes another step forward in 2018-19, adding coverage of United Township Panthers football, as well as Bettendorf Bulldogs football and basketball. This brings to five the number of schools covered by the live webcasts on QCSportsNet.com, with the total number of games expected to be around 200 for 2018-19.

For the five athletic programs now under their umbrella – the Rock Island Rocks, Moline Maroons, United Township Panthers, Bettendorf Bulldogs, and Pleasant Valley Spartans – QCSportsNet.com will provide live coverage of all regular season football and boys basketball games and specially selected girls basketball games, as well as all post-season action.

Any businesses interested in sponsoring coverage of anywhere from one to five schools can contact Ken Jacoby at (309) 912-5135 or ken.jacoby@mchsi.com for more information.

“The passionate fans of Quad Cities high school sports deserve the kind of high quality coverage we’ll bring them,” said QCSportsNet president Ken Jacoby. “We’re really excited about the new additions to our announcing team.”

The lead announcers for each school are expected to be:

Rock Island – Ken Jacoby, former Mallards play-by-play announcer in his 7th year calling Rocky games

Moline – Redrick Terry, WHBF-TV morning news anchor and former award-winning sportscaster at Western Illinois University

United Township – Joe Winkel, a UT grad now in his 6th season calling Panthers games.

Bettendorf Bulldogs – Jason Kempf, lead play-by-play announcer for the Quad Cities River Bandits
