The Quad Cities live local sports leader continues to bring you the best in area high school basketball this weekend! The action starts on Thursday with Western Big 6 action featuring Rock Island, Moline, and United Township. Friday brings a full slate of boys’ action, highlighted by Pleasant Valley taking on Davenport Assumption and Rock Island facing United Township in a cross-town battles. On Saturday, we will bring you coverage of the Rock Island girls taking on Louisville Butler from Louisville, KY and all three of our Western Big 6 teams in Saturday night games.

Rock Island, UT, and PV girls take center stage Monday and Tuesday!

Two of the Quad Cities’ best girls basketball teams highlight our coverage early this week on QCSportsNet! On Monday, the Rock Island girls return to DeKalb to compete in the semifinals and finals/3rd place games of the DeKalb MLK tournament. Rock Island takes on eighth-ranked Lincoln Way East with pregame coverage starting at 4:10 from DeKalb. The Rocks conclude their weekend with a 7:30 matchup, regardless of outcome, against either Maine South or undefeated Rockford Boylan. Pregame coverage for the nightcap starts at 7:10 PM.

On Tuesday, January 16th, the fourth-ranked Pleasant Valley girls (Iowa Class 5A) put their undefeated record on the line in non-conference action at Linn-Mar from the Mississippi Valley Conference. Our friend Zach Mackey from the Big Ten Network and the Iowa Hawkeyes Radio Network will be on the call from Marion with pregame coverage starting at 6:10 PM on Tuesday for a 6:30 PM tipoff. United Township takes on Alleman in a makeup Western Big 6 matchup starting at 6:10 PM.

QCSportsNet will once again prove it’s the Quad Cities’ leader for live, local high school sports when it follows the Rock Island Rocks girls basketball team for three key games in the coming weeks. The Rocks will play in the DeKalb MLK Weekend Tournament this weekend, with QCSportsNet carrying the Rocks’ games on Monday. Highlights from Pleasant Valley win over Muscatine

Pleasant Valley (10-1/8-1, ranked #9 in Iowa Class 4A) defeated Muscatine 59-50 in a tough road environment at MHS Fieldhouse on Friday, January 12th. There were many highlights from one of the best games covered by QCSportsNet this basketball season, but the following clips were the key highlights of the night with Dallon Christensen on the call.

Following the game, Steve Hillman spoke with Dallon Christensen about the Spartans’ big win in a tough road environment.
