Western Big 6 and Pleasant Valley boys openers on QCSportsNet this week!

High school basketball action heats up on QCSportsNet this weekend with six games, including a unique doubleheader featuring the Pleasant Valley boys and girls teams on December 3rd.

The United Township girls make their QCSportsNet debut on Thursday, December 1st as the Panthers take on rival Moline . On Friday, Western Big 6 boys action takes center stage with UT traveling to Galesburg and the Rock Island boys taking on Moline at home. Saturday, the Pleasant Valley boys team opens its season at Wharton Field House against Moline. The PV girls host Cedar Rapids Kennedy in an afternoon matchup, while Rock Island hosts Ottawa in non-conference action.

QCSportsNet tips off its 2016-2017 basketball schedule Thanksgiving week!

The Quad Cities’ leader for live local sports returns to the airwaves next week for its fourth season of high school basketball coverage! We will once again cover the Pleasant Valley Spartans, Rock Island Rocks, and United Township Panthers. This season, we are proud to introduce expanded coverage of girls basketball for all three of our programs. We will air a number of regular season games as well as all state playoff games for the Spartan, Rocks, and Panther girls’ programs.

Thanksgiving week starts our high school coverage with a full slate of action on both sides of the river. United Township returns to the Geneseo Thanksgiving tournament, while Rock Island hosts its annual Thanksgiving tournament. The Pleasant Valley girls basketball team opens its season on Tuesday night. All game listings are shown below.

Following a tense, thrilling road win last Friday at Thornton Fractional South, the Rock Island Rocks return home for the 2nd round of the Illinois Class 6A football playoffs this Friday night against Palos Heights Shepard. QCSportsNet, led by Ken Jacoby, will be there with all of the action. The pregame starts at 6:45 PM from Almquist Field with kickoff set for 7 PM.
