Western Big 6 and MAC conference action restarts on QCSportsNet this week

qc-sports-net-banner-2.pngFollowing a busy weekend of out-of-town basketball, QCSportsNet’s three feature teams are back in conference action this week. Rock Island and United Township square off on Friday in Western Big 6 action, and we will air “home team” broadcasts with Ken Jacoby (Rock Island) and Joe Winkel and Tanner Rowe (United Township).

Pleasant Valley looks to continue its undefeated run at home against Burlington on Tuesday night and in a key MAC matchup against Davenport Central on Friday night at Marshall Gymnasium.

Pleasant Valley boys head basketball coach Steve Hillman spoke with QCSportsNet’s Dallon Christensen following the Spartans’ 56-26 victory over Davenport West on Friday, January 8th. Coach Hillman also previews PV’s game at the Tri-States Border Battle at the Wisconsin Dells against Ripon.

All three of QCSportsNet’s feature teams are in action this weekend, highlighted by State Farm Tournament Classic champion Rock Island returning to action on Saturday afternoon and Pleasant Valley seeking to remain undefeated with games on Friday and Saturday.

Please pay close attention to the unique start times for games this weekend. QCSportsNet will air a tripleheader on Saturday with Rock Island playing in Chicago at 3 PM, followed by Pleasant Valley traveling to the Wisconsin Dells to face Ripon at 5:30 PM and UT traveling to Pekin for a 6:15 matchup. CJ Neville’s game-winner over U-High at the State Farm Classic

Rock Island guard CJ Neville hit a contested 14-footer with two second remaining in the Rocks’ dramatic 50-49 victory over Normal University High in the championship game of the State Farm Holiday Classic on Thursday, December 31 at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. Greg Halbleib, substituting for Ken Jacoby on QCSportsNet, had the call of the game-winner.
